About the Quilts
My little quilts are small-scale, or doll-size quilts. The quilts range in size from about 6 inches square up to 24 inches square. The top, backing, and binding fabrics are all antique or vintage. The quilts are machine pieced and machine quilted, using tiny machine stitches reminiscent of old time treadle sewing machines. The quilts contain very thin cotton batting, characteristic of fine antique Pennsylvania quilts.
About the Artist
I was born and raised in Illinois and like many young girls, learned to sew from my mother. Ambler, Pennsylvania has been my adopted home for nearly 20 years now. Upon moving East, I fell in love with the quilting tradition of Pennsylvania. After collecting antique quilts and fabrics for many years, I decided to use my fabric collection to make little quilts for my home. One quilt turned to two... five... needless to say, things got a little bit out of control, and here I am today. A chemist by day and a quilter by night, I am married with twin boys, who refer to my sewing room as the “quilt laboratory”.
